NEPAL: Convict-Turned-Evangelist Evicted, Beaten

Bhaluwan Kumar Paiswan was serving a 20-year prison sentence for gang-related crimes when he ended up in a cell with a Christian evangelist. Although annoyed at first, God worked in Bhaluwan's heart through this evangelist and he eventually placed his faith in Christ, experiencing new joy and peace. Upon his early release, he met another evangelist who discipled him and they began to work together. The church in that village grew to 25 people in a few years with many more showing interest. Bhaluwan’s family was living in the home of an uncle, but this uncle grew angry that Bhaluwan was openly practising Christianity and kicked them out of the house, forcing the young family to live in a tent by the road. In early 2024, relatives confronted them and severely beat Bhaluwan and his wife, Bina. Bhulawan and Bina continue to be witnesses to the community. They are praying and fasting, growing in their faith and winning others to Christ even amid hardship.

  • Pray for Bhulawan and Bina's safety, and for their relatives to repent and be saved.

  • Pray that many people will come to know Christ through their witness.
