A young couple who placed their faith in Christ less than six months ago have already paid a heavy price. Shortly after Phiarune and his wife, Lai, became Christians, they moved in with Lai’s parents. But her parents disapproved of their new practices, including their prayers before dinner. And when local police surveyed village residents, documenting the number of Christians, Phiarune’s father told them he didn’t want his daughter and son-in-law included in his family registration booklet, which serves as a passport combined with a social security card for the family unit. Phiarune, Lai and their young son had to move out of the house. Pray that they will get their own family registration booklet and be officially recognized by the government so they can obtain work, education and social services.
