Burkina Faso: Anti-Christian Violence Growing

The situation for Christians in Burkina Faso is deteriorating steadily, according to a VOM worker in the region. In less than two months, Islamists have attacked several churches and one Christian village. On April 28, 2019, gunmen attacked the Assemblies of God church in Silgadji, killing the pastor and five church members. On May 12, gunmen attacked a Catholic church in Dablo, killing the priest and five parishioners. Two days later, gunmen opened fire on a parade in Ouahigouya, killing four people. Then, on May 26, attackers killed four parishioners at a Catholic church in Toulfe. Finally, on June 9, armed jihadis killed at least 19 people in an attack on Arbinda. Islamist violence from Mali seems to be spreading into Burkina Faso. Pray for believers in Burkina Faso.
